Does this sentence make sense? Using big words?

I am writing a paper about china and I used this word I learned called juxtaposition to make it sound better.

I said: the juxtaposition between the customs and people had me even more intrigued by this country.

Does that make sense? I know juxtaposition is like between opposites or something
