I am writing a descriptive narrative, about a moment in time. It has to be about all of the emotions, touch, taste, smell, sights of one specific moment. I have already used family multiple times and as many synonyms as I can think of. Since it is a narrative, therefore about a specific person in their words, that it would be okay gramatically to say fam?

I say it isn't if it's that descriptive. Try going about the next sentence another way around to make it different and not use family.
