    Well, the only sentence which uses any type of citing is D) In 1783, Sampson developed a fever, and during her treatment, "the doctor discovered the truth" (Floyd).

    A is just a quote (there is no citing whatsoever). B is just someone's opinion and here you don't even need to use a quote. C you've already eliminated. This leaves us with D as the correct answer - the word in the brackets (Floyd) is citing where you took that expression from.
