The word, which I interpret the Flying or Floating Island, is in the original Laputa, whereof I could never learn the true etymology. Lap, in the old obsolete language, signifies high; and untuh, a governor; from which they say, by corruption, was derived Laputa from Lapuntah.

What would be the best suggestion to give Jonathan Swift for improving the original diction in the passage?

1. Substitute "governor" with "Laputa."

2. Add a long sentence to the end of the passage.

3. Provide a physical description of the "Flying or Floating Island."

4. Invent new words to add to the passage.
