Upon seeing Fortinbras Hamlet begins to see things that are similar between he and Fortinbras. Because Fortinbras is not a very emotional type of person, Hamlet gains respect for him and his methods. Fortinbras decides to still conquer an area of Poland even though there is no real reason for it other than the fact that he had already set out to do it. Hamlet admires this level of focus and determination.
