According to Woolf, women, no matter what talent and the level of intelligence they have cannot achieve the goals that men can achieve. Woolf sites example where a woman wants to pursue theatre and writing like Shakespeare but fails to do so because in the years 1500-1600's women were not given proper education and were forced to marry.
