Both texts convey the idea that people held in slavery will eventually rebel. In Samson's story, his pride was the cause of his situation but the poem does not address pride. In neither text does it discuss placing too much trust in people of power. As for the poem discussing the historical aspects of slavery, that is just nonsense. Rather, it is a warning that someone may do as Samson did and take out all the oppressors as well as himself.
