Write about a character who made a "deal with the devil." What were the character's motivations? Did the benefits outweigh the consequences? Your answer should be at least one hundred words.

In the famous Disney animated film, The Little Mermaid, Ariel had struck a deal with the known sea witch named Ursula. This situation appears to be a "deal with the devil". The protagonist, Ariel, had long been wanting to be at land yet this was prohibited by her father King Triton. Because of this, she decided to rebel after being reprimanded. She fell love at first sight with Prince Eric who she saw on the ship while she was swimming.

The character’s motivation in striking a "deal with the devil" was to fulfill her curiosity and to try and be together with Prince Eric. Because of this it angered her father and Ursula outwitted her by stealing the prince. The benefits of the deal did not outweigh the consequences because the only benefit she got was marrying the prince while the consequences were endangering the entire kingdom and other people’s lives while Ursula had almost gained control over the kingdom.
