    Punic comes from the Latin word Punicus which means Carthaginian, a reference to the three wars of Rome and Carthage from 246 to 146 BC. Cause of the war were mainly of the expanding Roman Empire conflicting with the already existent Carthaginian Empire. The determinant to serve in Roman Legions is through land ownership.
