Why does Claudius then advise his stepson to no longer dwell in grief?

Hamlet must travel to Wittenberg in order to attend school.

Grieving is considered cowardly and serves for the weak of heart.

The Queen does not wish to see Hamlet distraught and in despair.

Mourning must be done solitarily in the confines of one's bedroom.

    Claudius says "tis unmanly grief" to mourn in the way that Hamlet has been. He says that people die: his father lost a father and his father lost a father too. He thinks that Hamlet needs to stop wearing all black and showing his mourning
