It might be right for Thea to feel that way about Hedda because she is trying to make Lovborg to relapse with his alcohol problem, she even threatened him with a pistol. So Thea is scared of her, knowing that Hedda is not mentally stable, she is not afraid. She seems to be violent and destructive because she threatened Thea to burn her hair and pinched her arm.
