Why does abby claim that reverend hale's wife is involved in witchcraft hysteria?

Hale had begun to believe the people who were claiming that the girls were lying. Abby began to make claims against the Reverend because of this change in tone by the pastor, set up by the townspeople changing whom they were holding trust in.
