Who do researchers think the Capulet family (from Romeo and Juliet) is based on?

They believe that the Capulets are based on an era-appropriate political faction likely rivals to the real-life inspiration for the Montagues as well. This is not surprising, as Renaissance Italy was politically fragmented and often warred over (directly or by proxy) by many regional powers.
