In looking at the speech, "Blood, Toil, Tears, and Sweat," and looking for predictions, there are, in fact, three lines that speak directly of what he feels lies ahead for Great Britain: "I say to the House as I said to ministers who have joined this government, I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering." While Winston Churchill does predict victory in other parts of the speech and even states, " ... victory at all costs," those three lines are the only lines that speak of the what those costs are and of their impact on the people of Great Britain.
