How did industrialized powers divide up southeast Asia, and how did the colonized people's react?

    Industrialization made Japan in need of resources that couldn't ne found in Japan and gave them a desire to not rely on western powers.

    colonies were taken by use of local rivalries, modern armies, and technology. Many of the natives resented and fought against them
