Why is it important or valuable for news articles to maintain an essentially objective and unbiased tone? Why are speeches not held to the same standard of objectivity

Writing the news and giving a speech are two entirely different things. Speeches change on any level. Speeches can try to persuade you, make you laugh, etc. Same with articles, they can make you laugh, cry, etc. However no matter what kind of speech you make, you have to make sure the audience is listening. With news articles it's important you write an objective tone because you want to actually make your readers think, well, exactly that, think. Like I said it varies on different types of speeches and news articles. there are lots of different tones.
