    In Ode to the West Wind, Shelley compares the cloud to earth decaying leaves in stanza two, line 2. He compares the cloud to decaying leaves which are shed from the trees to create space for new leaves. He wrote that the loose clouds are shook from the tangled boughs of heaven and ocean.
