    C, because England just wants to expand its territory, and show the power that they have. they want to colonize the USA because its unclaimed land and to their enemies they look predestine and powerful because ooh look how much land i have. they protect it because they make money off the colonists paying them to live their (taxes, imported taxes, the tea act)
