What personal challenge does perseus have to overcome to fulfill acts of heroism

He must overcome his fears and his insecurities. He is always afraid of failing and he fears that if he fails that people might get hurt or even die because of him. He also lives in constant fear of what will happen to him if he fails the task that was given to him. Once he manages to overcome his fears and insecurities and inferiority complex he is able to come out as a victor.
