In what ways do you think the relationship between Proctor and Abigail affects the development of the plot as well as supports Miller's view about the witch hunts?

    Their relationship gives tension to the play. It creates potential issues between Abigail, proctor, and proctor’s wife. I think that miller was trying to show the insanity of the witch trials, by letting the reader know who was guilty and who was not, yet most end up hanged anyway. This play is about mass hysteria.
