Driving to the fair was a troublesome, difficult situation today. We planned on leaving at 5:30 p. m., which was unfortunately during rush hour. The traffic would be horrible and we did not want to be stuck. We decided to consult a map in an attempt to find an alternative route.

    I believe sentence 3 should be rewritten due to clarity; for example "The traffic would be horrible and we did not want to be a stuck in a traffic jam" would be exact.
