    I do remember reading an excerpt from Kennedy's address at the Rice University. I believe, Kennedy's main argument in his address at Rice University is that the United States should devote more resources to space exploration. - He's trying to evoke devotion for more resources to space exploration.

    "yet the vows of this nation can only be fulfilled if we in this nation are first ... " is an excerpt from Kennedy's expressing the importance of the US winning the space race.

    Kennedy also uses pathos is his speech, an example of this is when he says, "A sea of Peace or a new terrifying theater of war".
