Why is a piece of music considered a form of persuasive argument?

Music is often an attraction too people, they gather around and hear its message then they think it over and often change their thoughts and opinions based on what they heard, This is why rap music was hated for a time, it was all about killing and dying and people saw this as a reason to kill
