The statement that the north pole is in daytime for several weeks at a time, with no night time is true.

The poles experience 6 months of continuous days and nights. There is no Sunrise or Sunset at the polar regions. On the North Pole in Summer the Sun appears above the horizon and makes a 360° circle in the sky - over a period of 187 days at the North Pole 90° North latitude.

In winter on the other hand the Sun is below the horizon which results in 163 days of darkness.
