Explain the impact of the earths tilt and rotation?

Earth's rotation causes day time and night time. When the earth is tilted towards the sun, the area tilted towards the sun receives more radiation, and is probably in summer/spring. When the earth is tiled away from the sun, the area tilted away receives less sunlight, so it is probably in fall/winter.
