    The statement is false.

    The rocks with softer composition are weathering faster, while the rocks with harder composition weather slower. This is very easily seen where we have plateau made out of igneous rocks (hard composition rocks) and the surrounding area made of sedimentary rocks (soft composition rocks). While the sedimentary rocks will erode little by little and get smaller and lower, the igneous rocks will be pretty much unchanged.
