In which general direction is the sand being moved along the shoreline by ocean longshore currents?

    The ocean longshore currents move the sand in a parallel manner towards the shore it self, the direction though depends on the direction from which the ocean current comes, if it comes from south it'll move the sand slightly to the north, if it comes from the north it'll move the send slightly to the south.
