    (D) They are rare as they are found deep in the ocean they are very dangerous when they do go off though like the san andreas fault which was where one transform plate boundary earthquake went off killed over 600 people, that gets rid of B and A, and they were even erupting over 10 million years ago which gets rid of C and gives you the answer D.
