    Simon Bolivar was was a Venezuelan military and political leader. He played an important role in the establishment of Venezuela, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Panama as sovereign states. Liberty was his basic aim. He described liberty as "the only object worth the sacrifice of man's life'. According to him liberty was the freedom from a colonial power.
