Energy of the future lies in the sustainable nature of the energy source. These energy source include Solar energy, Hybrid Energy source, Piezoelectric energy, Nuclear fusion, Waste to Energy conversion etc.
Explanation:
The disruptive nature of fossil fuels (the prime mover of the current generation) has led to the quest for the discovery of an alternative energy source that could supplement fossils in future due to two reasons-
• They are in limited quantity and hence wear out in future for sure.
• They are mostly polluting and held chiefly responsible for altering the atmospheric composition of gases causing a host of problem.
This has led to scientist probing future energy source some of which includes-
Solar energy - They are the most common energy source of the future. The sun is a practically renewable and infinite energy source. Harnessing it is also common and have been used from time immemorial.
Hybrid Energy - They are essentially development over intermittent nature of host of renewable source such as solar, wind, biomass etc. They make a complimentary pair of renewable sources such as solar and wind. During the day time solar would power the energy grid while at the time when sets in, the wind would fuel the energy requirement.
Piezoelectric material - Recent research has led to scientist to develop piezoelectric. They are the material which generates a potential difference when subjected to pressure application. German scientists are planning to develop self-sufficient piezoelectric roads which would power itself as vehicles move over them applying pressure and thus generating electricity.
Waste to Energy conversion - Wastes are a menace. No more. US scientists have devised appropriate Waste conversion technology where wastes would be converted to a hydrocarbon-rich liquid by treating them in the absence of oxygen. This fuel would be later burnt to get energy. This has the twin benefit of energy as well as waste reduction.
