More costs for Same distances Delay in constructions More economic input goes to transport without efficient output Employment takes a hit

    Explanation:

If the transport system is poor, it directly translates to more costs for same distances traveled, while more time is used which leads to unnecessary delays in construction while leading to more costs for same distances, which acts as a direct hit to the economy. With a major part of the economy unnecessarily going to cover for the poor transportation services, the economic development is also reduced substantially. Not only that, but it also puts an effect on the employment as the time delays to less work for the employees and may lead to the employment for lesser people in order to do the same work. This all leads to inefficient inputs which lead to nothing but inefficient output, leading to poor economic development.
