Body waves and surface waves are 2 main forms of waves.

    Explanation:

Body waves and ground waves are 2 main forms of waves. Body waves can pass through innermost layer of earth, however surface waves can move like ripples on water along the planet's surface. Through surface and ground waves earthquake radiate seismic energy.

The first type of body wave is primary or P wave. This is seismic wave of fastest kind. The P wave, like air or liquid layers of earth, can travel through solid rock & fluids
