Convection currents occur when materials become heated and less dense - - they become buoyant. Buoyant materials, such as continents or hot rocks or hot water or hot air:

A) Tend to float on denser material or to rise up through denser rock or water or air.

    Answer: Tend to float on denser materials or rise up through denser rock or water or air

    Explanation: buoyant materials like the crust are known to float on denser mantle. Also hot water will necessarily rise to the top allowing cold water to travel to the bottom
