    9 more muffins

    Explanation:

Lucinda has 9 ounces of flour.

To make a cupcake she requires 1/3 ounce of flour, therefore the number of cupcakes she can make from 9 ounces of flour can be given by:

    (1/3) x = 9 where x is the number of cupcakes.

    Therefore, x = 9 * 3 = 27 cupcakes

To make a muffin she requires 1/4 ounce of flour, therefore the number of muffins she can make from 9 ounces of flour can be given by:

    (1/4) y = 9 where y is the number of muffins.

    Therefore, y = 9 * 4 = 36 muffins

The number of more muffins she can make more than cupcakes from her flour = 36 - 27 = 9 more muffins
