    Explanation:

    The p-waves pass through the mantel and the core and are slowed and are refracted by the mantle/core boundary forming at a depth of about 2900 km, the P wave are those that result of the two shadow zones that squeeze and pulls the rocks in the same direction as the waves travel and is refracted by the earth core.
