English channel called as a natural defense

    Reasons:

The Great Britain and the Northern France are separated from each other by the English Channel and in the earlier 17th century the French use to call it La Manche and then in the later 18th century the Britishers called them as the English Channel. It is one of the busiest Channels for shipping and trade routes many goods are transported to different countries through this channel. It serves as a natural defense because during the war period the European conflicts were prevented from entering into Britain through the English Channel and hence it acted as natural defense during the war period.
