S. rivers fit for fishing and swimming by 1983, and to have a 0 water pollution by 1985, to stop the discharge of toxic amounts of toxic pollutants in the river ecosystem. To date, the U. S. stream and rivers of 70% of lakes, ponds, and reservoirs, and 90% ocean and coastal areas continue to violate quality standards.
