Where is a subduction zone most likely to form?

Subduction zone is the name given to an area of convergence of tectonic plates, where one of these infiltrates underneath the other, according to the theory of plate tectonics (theory of geology that describes large-scale motions in the lithosphere). In general, it is the heaviest oceanic lithosphere, which is subdivided under the continental lithosphere, of lower specific weight due to its greater internal thickness. A well known and studied example is the subduction of the Nazca Plate under the Andes Mountains.
