If industrial location is chosen according to situation factors in order to minimize transportation costs, explain why many industries are locating in East and Southeast Asia and shipping goods to markets in North America.

    Situation factors state that optimal location of an industry should be close to customers. While that is true for businesses with bulky or perishable goods, there are other factors to consider.

    They include labor, land and other costs. Labor and land are far more available and their costs much lower in Asia than in NA. That is the main reason why so many industries are located there instead.'

    Explanation:

    I think people forget sometimes that while the U. S has labor laws, unions, and a minimum wage, there are other countries that do not have laws to protect them from exploitation in the work place.
