    D. Erosion

    Explanation:

The Shoreline is eroded by the the water and the winds that together act as tools of the chemical weathering and physical disintegration of the rocks at the shores and thus create a new layer of soil by the both process of the erosion and the deposition and hence are responsible for the destruction of the shorelines along the seawalls of the urban areas. As the rate of the water that comes at the shores is pushed with a grater force by the wave action the impact is more on the sandy beaches. The mechanical wear and tear of the shoreline along the seawall tend to remove the sediment along with the soils in the urban areas. It's the form of passive erosion and as the seawall gradually tends to get completely dissolved n this process and the waterfalls on the roads and inside the urban areas and causes flooding.
