    Aleutian islands mean the lands of Aleuts. The subduction of the Pacific plate beneath the North American plate forms the Aleutian island trenches and volcanic arc. Its a chain of 14 large volcanic islands and 55 small ones all in Alaskan states located in the north pacific ocean. Island has 57 volcanoes all in the pacific ring of fire. Geologically motion between the Kalu plate and North American plate along the margins of the Bering shelf ended in Eocene epoch and thus led to the formation of Aleutian Basin and the island arcs.
