    Importance of density during differentiation

    Explanation:

Density - The degree of compactness in a particular substance. The average density of the earth is 5.515 g/cm³. The density of the earth increases as we go closer to the core of the earth.

Differentiation - is a kind of non - mixing where the material of earth get separated into layers due to density and in this process the high-density materials like iron, nickel are pulled to the center of the planet.

Importance of density during differentiation -

The density of water in hydrosphere and the density of rocks in the crust are lower than the earth's average density. This is because the interior of the earth needs higher density than the overall average density of the earth. The process of differentiation is very necessary to occur in planet because of the proper mix of the materials of different density and the inside particles must be able to flow. The earth's interior is zoned by density with heavy materials at the center (core) while all the light materials float about the surface (crust). This is how density was important during Differentiation.
