As the automobile grew in popularity and was becoming more easy for people to buy one, it was noticed that the suburbs started to grow rapidly. This had happened because once the people had a transportation vehicle at their own possession they were able to travel longer distances in very short amount of time, thus work in places that are further away from their homes, so the suburbs started to grow because people were able to reach their workplaces and the administrative facilities with ease even though they were further away from the central part of the city.
