There are two ways to prevent the spread of malaria. Describe both methods, and identify the steps people in Africa are taking to eliminate the disease.

The answer is; use of mosquito nets and use of pesticides

Sleeping under a mosquito net prevents mosquitoes from biting when sleeping because they cannot pass through the holes in the net.

Use of pesticides kills the mosquitoes and reduces their population such that it is less likely to be bitten by a mosquito.

To eliminate malaria scientists are using genetic engineering. They introduce sterile males in the environment to compete for females with wild type mosquitoes. This reduces the reproduction of mosquitoes hence eventually their population drops drastically.
