How could the collision of convergent tectonic plates affect the biosphere?

The subduction of oceanic plates at a convergent plate boundary can cause fish kills.

The creation of new crust creates larger habitats for plants and animals.

The folding of the Earth's crust could change the plant species that can survive in a location.

The landmass plants and animals live on can change latitudes.

The folding of the Earth's crust could change the plant species that can survive in a location.

    Explanation:

The movement of the tectonic plates is one of the primary factors that influence the creation and destruction of habitats. This is because this motion is able to change the landscape, create new crust, destroy old crust, lift or lower and area etc. When two plates collide, one feature that always occurs are the mountains, or highlands in general.

If an area was a lowland, and it gradually became a mountainous area, that will have big affect on the biosphere. The climate will be changed, the elevation too, the steepness of the terrain, the insulation and albedo etc. All of this will result in either adaptation of the plants to live in the changed conditions or spreading of plants that are already adapted for those kind of conditions. With the change of the plants there will be change of the species of animals, so over time the biosphere will be totally changed.
