The reason why Caribou has more hours of sunlight in June than Miami is because of the tilting of the Earth. In June, the Northern Hemisphere of the Earth is tilted toward the Sun. Because of that, the Northern Hemisphere is more exposed to the sunlight. The days become longer as the latitude becomes higher. The places that are further north, even though they are colder, they have longer days than the places on the Northern Hemisphere that are closer to the equator. Caribou is closer to the North Pole than to the equator, while Miami is closer to the equator than the North Pole, so the in this period of the year Caribou is more exposed to the sunlight and has longer days.
