Which natural resource has benefited both Native Americans and modern Americans since early times?

I think that, since the entire Continent is changed from Native American's times, only the forests are beneficial for both. Other things Modern Americans have did not exist at Native's time, so only the flora (the fauna is changed too, with reserves, parks, and animal hunting) can have benefited Americans since early times.
