    A meteoriod is a small body moving in the solar system. A meteoriod becoming visible as a meteor and hitting the Earth's surface as a meteorite.

    Meteoroids are those freely moving bodies in the space that are way too small in size and carry physical specifications that of a stone.

    Explanation:

    When a meteoroid that is heading towards the Earth at a certain speed manages to enter the Earth's atmosphere, it is called a meteor. After entering the "Earth's atmosphere", meteoroids often evaporate mix into the atmosphere. But when a meteor manages to reach the "surface of the earth", it is called a "meteorite".
