What did you notice about the way the soil particles sank in the water? How was it different from the way the soil and sand particles sank? What does the soil look like in the "soil" bottle?     The soil particles sank in the water as it is heavier. It is different from the soil and sand as the lighter particles of the sand are suspended. Soil in the soil bottle looks grainy.

    Explanation:

    The soil in the soil bottle is just particles of soil whereas that in the soil and sand bottle is a mixture of the soil and sand. The particles at the bottom are the particles with the largest grain size and the heaviest among the soil and sand particles.
