Why do earthquakes occur more often in some places than others?

    Because of fault lines. On places on or near fault lines, there is a split in the Earth's crust (I think). Earthquakes are more likely to occur on these lines. California has a fault line, so there are many Earthquakes.

    Because in some places there is plates interaction when that occurs earthquakes usually take place.
